Sayanta Jana

Dr. Sayanta Jana is the National Medical Director for WA at Silver Chain Group. Prior to this, they served as a member of the Australian Medical Council from November 2014 to November 2020. In this role, they were a Senior Health Executive representing Australian Public Hospitals.

The AMC’s purpose is to ensure that standards of education, training and assessment of the medical profession promote and protect the health of the Australian community. As a member of the AMC, Dr. Jana was responsible for developing accreditation standards, policies and procedures for medical programs of study based predominantly in Australia and New Zealand. Sayanta also assessed other countries’ examining and accrediting authorities to decide whether persons who successfully completed the examinations or programs of study conducted or accredited by those authorities have the knowledge, clinical skills and professional attributes necessary to practise medicine in Australia.

In their role as National Medical Director for WA at Silver Chain Group, Dr. Jana is responsible for providing high quality medical care to patients, as well as leading and managing a team of medical professionals. Sayanta is dedicated to their work and is committed to improving the health and wellbeing of their patients.

Sayanta Jana has a Fellowship from the Royal Australasian College of Medical Administrators (RACMA), an Associate Fellowship from the Australasian College of Health Service Management, and a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt from Anexas Consultancy in Denmark. Sayanta also has a Master of Health Management from UNSW, and an MBBS from Calcutta National Medical College. Sayanta attended St Xavier's School in Haldia, and has a MAICD from the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Sayanta Jana reports to Dale Fisher, CEO, Silver Chain Group. Sayanta Jana works with Lisa Turner - National Nursing Director, Hiren Mehta - Executive Director, Finance, and Helena Williams - Executive Medical Director, East Coast.
