Barrett Karr

Barrett Karr is the current Managing Director and Head of Government Affairs at Silver Lake. Prior to this, they served as Chief of Staff for Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy from January 2019 to June 2019, and as Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy's Chief of Staff from February 2015 to June 2019. Before that, they were a Principal and Head of US Government Affairs at The Carlyle Group from February 2013 to March 2015.

Barrett Karr completed a Bachelor's degree in International Relations and Affairs at Texas Christian University. Barrett then completed a Master's degree in Legislative Affairs at The George Washington University.

Barrett Karr reports to Karen King, Managing Director and Chief Legal Officer. They work with Alan Davies - Senior Counsel, EMEA, Andy Schader - Managing Director and General Counsel of Silver Lake Partners and Alpine, and Sharon Binger - Managing Director, Chief Compliance Officer & Head of Litigation.
