Lily Garcia Walton

Lily Garcia Walton began their career in education, working as a consultant for Education First Consulting. In this role, they authored a weekly column on washingtonpost.com titled "How to Deal." The column was republished in The Washington Post and other major media outlets.

In 2013, Lily joined Strayer University as Vice Provost, Faculty / VP, Academic Operations. In this role, they transformed the faculty culture at Strayer University to ignite commitment to the mission and produce superlative classroom experiences for the university’s students. Lily was responsible for leading a team of 25 Deans of Faculty who managed approximately 1800 full-time and adjunct faculty members teaching 40,000+ students across all graduate and undergraduate programs in on-campus and online modalities. Lily was ultimately accountable for all student learning outcomes, closely monitoring course performance data and forecasting results. Lily also led the Learning and Development team in the identification of key drivers of faculty success and the development of related faculty trainings. Additionally, they led the implementation of instructional technology and teaching innovations, including social media platforms, auto-grading, and custom video.

In 2018, Lily left Strayer University to join Silverchair as their Chief People Officer. In this role, they are responsible for leading the company's human resources function and developing strategies to attract, retain, and develop Silverchair's talent.

Lily Garcia Walton has a JD from the University of Virginia, a BA in English from Stetson University, and a certification from HRCI in Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR). Lily also has a certification from the Colorado Supreme Court in License to Practice Law and a certification from the District of Columbia Court of Appeals in License to Practice Law.
