Jeffrey Aftel

Jeffrey Aftel is a seasoned technical communicator with extensive experience in leading documentation teams across various organizations. Currently serving as the Team Lead for Technical Writing at Silverfort since July 2025, Aftel previously held the position of Director of Product Writing at Gong from July 2021 to July 2025, where leadership of the Product Writing group was a key responsibility. At Wix.com, Aftel managed a team of writers for Velo by Wix and contributed to establishing the Technical Writers’ Guild. Aftel's tenure at HP spanned over six years, during which leadership roles included Team Leader for Quality Center/Performance Center Documentation and HP LoadRunner Documentation, achieving significant improvements in documentation standards and user experience. Aftel's career began in technical writing at ECI Telecom and includes prior educational leadership roles as Principal of the High School Division at Melvin J. Berman Hebrew Academy and Headmaster at the Hebrew Day School of Montgomery County. Aftel holds multiple degrees, including a Bachelor's in Computer Science and an M.S. in Jewish Education, along with a certificate in Technical Writing from WritePoint.
