Dan Q

Dan Q has a diverse work experience in the field of programming and game development. Dan is currently working as a Senior Gameplay Programmer at Silver Rain Games since December 2022. Prior to this, they worked at Splash Damage as a Gameplay Programmer from July 2021 to December 2022.

From 2017 to 2021, Dan Q served as a Senior Software Developer at Sage People. In this role, they were the technical lead for a team of 5 developers, responsible for hiring and training them. Dan was involved in full-stack development, product architecture design, coding standards, and making technical decisions. Dan worked closely with Product Ownership and UX to ensure project direction and timelines.

Before joining Sage People, Dan Q was self-employed as a Game Developer and Computer Science Tutor from 2015 to 2017. During this time, they dedicated one day a week to game development and successfully developed and released their own game. Dan also provided computer science tutoring to students of all levels, showcasing their ability to explain complex topics in a simple and relatable manner.

Previously, they worked at Forcepoint LLC as an Associate Software Development Engineer from 2014 to 2016. In this role, they developed and maintained performance-critical Python code for global HTTP/S proxy servers, focusing on web filtering and policy enforcement. Dan'swork involved extensive knowledge of web security practices, networking, and the HTTP/S protocol. Dan also handled DevOps and Sysadmin work on Linux systems.

Dan Q began their education at Reading School in 2003 and completed their studies there in 2010. Dan then attended the University of Birmingham from 2010 to 2013, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science.
