Joana Branco Almeida

Joana Branco Almeida is a Research Scientist at Simbec-Orion since May 2022, with prior experience as a Scientist at Cignpost Diagnostics and a Student Advisor at OK Student. Joana has developed strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills through various roles, including Front of House at The White Lion and multiple internships in laboratory settings. Significant laboratory skills were acquired at the Instituto Gulbenkian de Ciencia, focusing on the African Swine Fever Virus, and through educational experiences at the University of Nottingham, where Joana earned a Master's of Science in Clinical and Molecular Microbiology.
