Sanjay Sarkar

Sanjay Sarkar is a skilled Senior Scientist in Infectious Disease Research at Southern Research, with a tenure starting in October 2021. Prior to this role, Sanjay served as Scientist 2 in the same division. Experience includes positions as Research Associate and Postdoctoral Research Associate at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill from March 2017 to October 2021, and as a Postdoctoral Scholar at the Maxwell H. Gluck Equine Research Center, University of Kentucky, from February 2014 to March 2017. Sanjay holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Virology from the University of Kentucky, obtained in 2014, a Master’s Degree in Veterinary Pathology from West Bengal University of Animal and Fishery Sciences, earned in 2008, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Veterinary Medicine (BVSc&AH) from the same institution in 2005.
