Laura Reid has over 25 years of work experience, with a strong focus on corporate meetings and travel management. Laura worked at Serta Simmons Bedding Company from 2010 to the present as a Manager, Corporate Meetings and Travel/Executive Assistant, where they were responsible for planning various meetings for the executive and senior leadership team, national sales meetings, board of director meetings, and departmental/divisional sales training and informational meetings. Laura also managed one incentive sales trip per year and assisted with logistics coordination for two industry trade shows annually.
Prior to joining Serta Simmons Bedding Company, Laura held the same role at Simmons Bedding Company and The Simmons Companies, a Fenway Partners PE holding, from 2002 to the present. In these positions, they planned and organized meetings for the executive and senior leadership team, national sales meetings, board of director meetings, departmental/divisional sales training and informational meetings, and department-specific meetings. Laura also managed one incentive sales trip per year and assisted with logistics coordination for two industry trade shows annually.
Before joining Simmons Bedding Company, Laura worked at Larry Wilson in 2004 as a Training Event/Project Manager. In this role, they were responsible for logistical coordination and served as a personal assistant to the company owner. Laura also handled site selection, which included an outdoor ropes course requirement.
Earlier in their career, Laura worked at Paceon from 1998 to 2002 as a Sales representative, at Nichols Technical Services in 1997 as an Admin, and at MSA from 1992 to 1994 as an Admin.
Laura Reid obtained a BA in Organization Development from Mercer University, where they studied from 2001 to 2002. Prior to attending university, they attended Seaholm High School from 1974 to 1977. In addition to their formal education, Laura also holds various certifications. Laura obtained the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in the Workplace Certificate from USF Corporate Training and Professional Education in October 2021. Furthermore, they became a Certified Travel Expert (CTE) in 2007, a Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) in 2005, and a Certified Trade Show Marketer (CTSM) in 2002. The institutions where Laura obtained their certifications are unknown.
