David Arregui-Almeida

David Arregui-Almeida is currently a Graduate Student at Simon Fraser University, specializing in Natural Products’ Chemistry Research at the Linington Lab since September 2025. Previously, David served as a Research Technician at Pontifical Catholic University of Ecuador from June 2022 to September 2025, where responsibilities included acquiring callus cells via in vitro plant tissue culture and conducting phytochemical characterization of endemic plant species, funded by the PUBLÍCALO 2023 project. Additional roles involved collaborating as an External Research Technician on a microbiological project regarding integrons and participating in undergraduate research focused on the antibacterial properties of Ecuadorian endemic plants. David began professional training as a Preparations Department Intern, managing chemical inventories and assessing technical documentation. Education was completed at Pontificia Universidad Católica del Ecuador with a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Sciences from 2019 to 2023.
