Cecilia Saura Drago

Cecilia Saura Drago has extensive work experience in various roles and organizations. Cecilia is currently the Director of Operations at the Simon Institute for Longterm Governance since May 2023. Prior to this, from 2020 to 2023, they worked at KUDO, where they held multiple positions including Director of Client Success, EMEA, Director of Client Management, EMEA, and Client Success Manager.

Cecilia's previous experience includes working as a Communications Consultant at the IUCN Centre for Mediterranean Cooperation from 2017 to 2020. Here, they were responsible for writing and editing the contents of the Annual Report for multiple years, updating the official website, and developing infographics, web stories, and exhibitions. During this time, they also worked at Catalyx as an Online Community Manager, where they moderated and managed communities for insight research studies and analyzed insights to develop brand positioning strategies.

In 2018, Cecilia took a career break for maternity leave and worked as a Mom at The Pregnancy Pause, gaining hands-on experience in development. Prior to that, they worked as a Project Coordinator at the University of Geneva in 2018 and 2017.

Cecilia began their career at IUCN in 2013, working as a Communications Associate and Onsite Communications Manager at the World Conservation Congress from 2015 to 2016. Cecilia also served as the Assistant to the Director General from 2013 to 2015. Additionally, in 2012, Cecilia worked as the Forum Opening & World Leaders Dialogues Manager at the World Conservation Congress.

Before joining IUCN, they worked at the IUCN Centre for Mediterranean Cooperation from 2010 to 2012 in various roles, including Corporate Development Assistant, External Affairs Assistant, and Executive Assistant & Regional Focal Point for North Africa. Cecilia also had experience working at the Festival de Cine Africano de Tarifa as the Head of the Education Program and Head of Guests' Logistics.

Cecilia Saura Drago completed their Master's degree in Scientific, Medical and Environmental Communication at the UPF Barcelona School of Management from 2016 to 2017. Prior to that, they obtained a degree in Translation and Interpreting from the Universidad de Málaga, spanning from 1999 to 2004. Before their university education, they attended the Instituto Español "Juan Ramón Jiménez" in Casablanca, Morocco, where they did not pursue any specific degrees.

Additionally, Cecilia has acquired several certifications throughout their career. In 2019, they completed the SharePoint for Enterprise: Site Owners certification from LinkedIn, as well as the Visio 2019 Essential Training from the same institution. In 2017, they obtained the "La recherche documentaire" certification from École Polytechnique. Furthermore, they have completed courses such as "The Age of Sustainable Development" with distinction on Coursera, earning a Statement of Accomplishment, and has received Coursera Verified Certificates for the course "Global Warming: The Science of Climate Change" in 2014.
