David Berns

Chief Investment Officer at Simplify Asset Management

David Berns is the current Chief Investment Officer at Simplify Asset Management. Prior to this, they were a portfolio designer and then Managing Director at Nasdaq, where they created web-based research content and portfolio management tools to help advisors manage client portfolios. David has also worked as a founder and Vice President at DMB Trading and Athena Capital Advisors.

David Berns has a PhD in Physics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a BS in Engineering Physics from Tufts University. David is also certified by the FINRA in Series 65.

David Berns reports to Paul Kim, Chief Executive Officer. David Berns works with Michael Green - Portfolio Manager & Chief Strategist, Peter Van Amson - Head of Risk Management, and Brian Kelleher - Chief Revenue Officer.
