David Berns

David M. Berns, PhD is currently serving as the CIO & Cofounder at Simplify Asset Management since April 2020. Prior to this, David was the founder of Portfolio Designer since July 2019. David M. has experience as the Managing Director at Nasdaq from April 2018 to June 2019, and as the Founder of DMB Trading from March 2015 to March 2018. Additionally, David worked as the Vice President at Athena Capital Advisors from 2008 to 2015. David holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Physics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Engineering Physics from Tufts University.
