Azucena Orellana

Azucena Orellana is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in logistics, optimization, and team leadership. Currently serving as Engineering Manager at SimpliRoute since March 2019, Azucena leads development teams focused on software algorithms and optimization heuristics to enhance a suite of logistics intelligence products. Prior roles include Algorithm Tech Lead and Data Scientist, where significant improvements were made in route optimization algorithms. Azucena also holds a position as a Lecturer at Universidad de Chile, teaching a mandatory course in Modeling and Optimization. Additional experience includes roles in event organization, data analysis, and research assistance, complemented by a Master's degree in Operations Management and a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering from Universidad de Chile.
