Muhammad Ajaz Khan is an accomplished HSE professional with extensive experience in health, safety, and environmental management across multiple organizations, currently serving as Assistant Manager HSE at Sindh Engro Coal Mining Company since October 2016. In this role, Muhammad manages a team of over 30 professionals, focusing on achieving zero incidents within a workforce of 3,000. Previous positions include HSE Team Lead and Supply Base HSE Supervisor at Total, as well as Senior HSE Supervisor at Energy Logistics Iraq. Muhammad's career began with roles in logistics and administration at BP and other companies, reflecting a strong foundation in safety protocols and client relations. Educational credentials include a Master's Degree in Political Science from Federal Urdu University and a Bachelor's Degree in the same field from AJK University.

Sindh Engro Coal Mining Company (SECMC) is a joint venture between Government of Sindh and Engro Energy Limited where Engro is an 11.9% shareholder. The other partners in this project include Thal Limited (House of Habib), Habib Bank Limited (HBL), Hub Power Company (HUBCO); China Machinery Engineering Corporation (CMEC) and SPI (State Power International). SECMC was established with the vision “To develop a technically and commercially viable Coal Mining Project in Thar Block – II to bring energy security to Pakistan via local untapped reserves” The total reserves of block II are sufficient to support 5000MW of energy for 50 years; enough to pull the country out of the energy crisis.
