Dr. Amy Gile serves as the executive director for teaching and learning at Singapore American School. Prior to taking on this role, Gile served multiple roles during her three decades as an educator. These roles include elementary principal at a school in Denver, Colorado, assistant principal, district level literacy intervention and special education curriculum coordinator, classroom teacher in kindergarten and first grade, and special education teacher for kindergarten through twelfth grade.
Gile earned her doctorate in educational leadership. Her doctoral research focused on how to best prepare teachers to effectively teach the science of reading. She holds masters' degrees in special education. Gile has earned K-12 principal, special education moderate Needs (5-21), and elementary teaching certificates from the State of Colorado.
Gile is accompanied in Singapore by her husband, Larry. In her free time, she enjoys biking, listening to live music, and traveling with her family.
