Shang Yi Chia

Shang Yi Chia is a seasoned professional currently serving as a Senior Assistant Director at the Singapore Civil Defence Force since February 2024. Prior to this role, Shang held the position of Senior Assistant Director at the Ministry of Home Affairs Singapore from June 2021 to February 2024, focusing on strategic planning within the Planning & Organisation Division. Shang's extensive experience with the Singapore Civil Defence Force includes positions such as Senior Staff Officer in Operations Policy, Commander at Marina Bay Fire Station, and Senior Staff Officer for Industrial Regulations, with responsibilities as the Rota Commander at Alexandra Fire Station until 2014 and serving in the HazMat Department HQ SCDF. Shang also completed an internship with SULZER CHEMTECH PTY LTD in early 2010 and worked as an Office Administrator at OCBC Bank from late 2007 to mid-2008. Shang holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Chemical Engineering from Nanyang Technological University Singapore, earned between 2008 and 2012.
