Seang Mei Saw is a distinguished academic with extensive experience in public health and ophthalmology. Currently serving as a Professor at the Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health since May 1997, a Distinguished Wallace Foulds Professor at Duke-NUS Medical School since January 2018, and a Professor and Head of the Myopia Unit at the Singapore Eye Research Institute since January 2005, Seang Mei Saw has significantly contributed to the field. Additional roles include a Joint Professor position at Duke NUS Graduate Medical School from January 2008 to March 2023. Seang Mei Saw holds a Master of Public Health (MPH) and a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Public Health from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, as well as a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine.
