John Pepe

John Pepe is an experienced equine professional currently serving as the Head Starter - Stipendiary at Singapore Turf Club, a position held since March 2022. In this role, John leads a team of up to 18 barrier attendants, focuses on developing tailored barrier training plans, and ensures safe and timely starts during races. Previous experience includes serving as a Starter at Racing Victoria for a brief period, and as an Assistant Starter at Singapore Turf Club for over eight years. Additionally, John has completed internships that provided training in natural horsemanship under industry recognized professionals, including Bob Duncan and Gary Witheford, and has gained experience as an Expert Starting Gate Handler at The Hong Kong Jockey Club.
