Robert Thompson has extensive work experience in the automotive industry. Robert started their career at Bentley Motors, where they worked as a Power-train Controls Development Engineer from 2007 to 2010. Robert then joined McLaren Automotive Ltd, where they held various roles, including Lead Vehicle Development Engineer, Senior Vehicle Development Engineer, Chief Engineer for the McLaren 675LT, and Senior Manager Vehicle Engineering for McLaren Future Projects. Thompson worked at McLaren from 2010 to 2018. After leaving McLaren, they joined Tharsus as the Head of Design from 2018 to 2022. Currently, Thompson is working as the Chief Engineer at Singer Vehicle Design from 2022 onwards.
Robert Thompson attended the University of Hertfordshire from 2002 to 2006, where they earned a BEng.(Hons) degree in Automotive & Mechanical Engineering with Motorsport.
