Zhou Honghao

Dr. Zhou Honghao graduated from the Medical Dept of the former Wuhan Medical College in 1962. In 1983, he went to the Medical Faculty of The University of Hong Kong for Clinical Pharmacology training, then worked as a senior fellow at the Clinical Pharmacology Laboratory of Vanderbilt University in the United States. He returned to his homeland to set up China’s first Institute of Pharmacogenetics in 1991. He was appointed director of the Institute of Clinical Pharmacology of Central South University in February 2002 and in December 2005, he was elected as Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering.

Professor Zhou Honghao is a pioneer and foregoer of pharmacogenetics and pharmacogenomics disciplines and the founder of individualized medicine.
