George Sandor's work experience spans over several decades, starting with their role as a Development Engineer at Union Carbide (Eveready Battery Company) from 1986 to 1991. From 1991 to 1996, they worked at FMC Lithium, first as a Technical and Commercial Manager and then as an Industry/Product Manager for Air Treatment and Water Treatment.
At FMC Lithium from 1996 to 2000, George served as the Marketing and Sales Manager for the Energy and Specialty Inorganics segment, overseeing marketing, sales, and technology management. George also handled the execution of new product rollouts and negotiated intellectual property sales.
From 2000 to 2005, George held the position of Global Business Manager, Organics at FMC, where they managed polymer initiators, catalysts, and plastic additives. George successfully expanded the product platform globally and reorganized the sales organization in the Americas and Asia.
Continuing at FMC, George became the Global Marketing Director for the Lithium Division in 2005 and held the position until 2009. During this time, they developed strategic business plans, global marketing plans, and ROI plans. George also led business development efforts, expanded market channels, and managed technical areas for Energy and Battery.
From 2009 to 2010, George served as the Sales and Marketing Director at FMC, overseeing sales management in the NAFTA, Central, and South America regions. George was responsible for global marketing and communications across various industries such as HVAC, energy, batteries, construction products, and more.
George then took on the role of Global Organics and Americas Sales and Development Director at FMC from 2010 to 2013, focusing on catalyst sales in the polymer, pharmaceutical, and agricultural synthesis industries. George also handled sales and development in the Americas for various industries, including batteries, glass, ceramics, and grease. Additionally, George managed marketing and sales activities in the Americas for HVAC, construction, and water sanitizer markets.
From 2014 to 2018, George served as the Global Sales Director at FMC Corporation. George was responsible for global sales and business development management across various industries, including batteries, energy, polymers, pharma, special catalysts, and more. George managed global sales personnel, developed sales strategies, and maintained customer relationships.
George joined Livent in 2018 as the Global Head of Sales, overseeing sales into the energy storage, grease, lubricant, polymer, pharmaceutical, agro synthesis, and aviation industries. George developed and reviewed global sales and pricing strategies, managed global sales and customer service across multiple regions, and led global negotiations and contracting activities.
Currently, George is the VP of Business Development for Electrolyte Products at Sionic Energy, starting in 2022. In this role, they are responsible for product and service development, commercialization strategies, and sales execution for electrolyte products within the battery value chain.
George Sandor completed their education in a chronological order, starting with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical and Nuclear Engineering from Youngstown State University, which they earned from 1982 to 1986. Following this, they pursued an MBA with a focus in Marketing and Finance at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute from 1989 to 1991. Finally, they attended the Harvard Business School where they took part in the PLD2 program, an executive education course, from 2007 to 2008.
