Platform Monitoring Engineer

Our company is growing rapidly and is searching for experienced candidates for the position of Platform Monitoring Engineer for our office in Managua, Nicaragua. Responsibilities:

• Monitoring: Continuously monitor the platform's performance, availability, and reliability using monitoring tools and systems.

• Alert Response: Respond to alerts and notifications promptly, investigating and resolving issues to minimize downtime.

• Troubleshooting: Identify and troubleshoot technical issues related to the platform, working with other teams if necessary to resolve complex problems.

• Incident Management: Manage and resolve incidents, documenting the root cause and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

• Automation: Maintain automated processes for monitoring, alerting, and incident response to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort.

• Documentation: Maintain documentation related to monitoring processes, troubleshooting procedures, and system configurations.

• Compliance: Ensure that monitoring practices comply with relevant standards, regulations, and best practices.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or equivalent work experience in lieu of a degree.

• Strong writing skills including the ability to use technical tools.

• Advanced communication and interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisors, and end-users.

• Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.

• Ownership of problem management and IT projects.

• IT-security focused.

• System administration in Linux.

• Understanding network concepts, protocols, and configurations.

• Experience with cloud computing, such as AWS.

• Familiarity with monitoring tools.

• Database management - Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL.

• Proficiency in AWS.
