Oener Oktik

Prof. Dr. nerener Oktik graduated in physics in 1976 at the University of Ankara and obtained a Master of Engineering in Applied Physics in 1977 at the same university. He enrolled for a doctorate at Durham University (UK), Department of Applied Physics and Electronics in 1982. Prof. Oktik became an associate professor in 1986, and a full professor in 1995. During his academic career he has worked as a lecturer, researcher, senior researcher and administrator, senior administrator at Durham University (UK), Lecce University (Italy), Stuttgart University (Germany), Selçuk University and Muğla University (Turkey). Professor Oktik won his third and fourth terms as President / Rector of Muğla University between 2002 and 2010. He has also worked as a senior research researcher, technologist and senior executive director in Industrial Research and Technological Development Laboratories in England at BP Solar, Sunbury, Imperial Chemical Industries PLC (ICI), Slough Paint Research Laboratories and Durham University Industrial Research Laboratories (UK), Solar Research Center energy and hydrogen Baden-Württemberg (ZSW) (Germany) and in Turkey to Anel Group, Arıkanlı Holding and Şişecam. He was a member of many non-governmental organizations and professional organizations, and currently prof. Oktik member of the Advisory Board of the International Commission on Glass, "ICG", Conference on Coatings on Glass and Plastics, "ICCG", Society of Vacuum Coatings "SVC", Center for Functional and Surface Functional Glass (Slovakia), he is also on the Scientific Committee of the European Conference on Photovoltaic Solar Energy EU-PVSEC ”and represents the Turkish Physical Society in the European Physical Society (EPS). At the national level, he is honorary president of the Turkish Solar Energy Association, board member of the Turkish Clean Energy Foundation, member of the advisory board of the Turkish Science, Technology and Innovation Council, board member of the Sıtkı Koçman Foundation and the Turkish Foundation for Basic Science Research. Professor Oktik is currently a senior lecturer at Kadir Has University and the author / co-author of more than 100 scientific and technical publications and the inventor / co-inventor of two world patents. Prof. Oktik was elected to the Board of Türkiye Şişe ve Cam Fabrikaları A.Ş. at the regular shareholders' meeting on March 27, 2020.
