Bernard McGarrity

Bernard McGarrity has a diverse work experience spanning multiple organizations and roles. Bernard began their career at Solid Support Pty Ltd as a Senior Consultant, where they were responsible for preparing proposals, tender submissions, and managing infrastructure programs. Bernard then moved on to Leighton Contractors as a Planning Manager, overseeing time-related activities for the M2 Motorway Upgrade Project.

Bernard later joined Laing O'Rourke as a Planning Manager, where they worked on high-profile projects such as the Terminal 2 at Dublin Airport and the Pier D project. Bernard also held the role of Executive Assistant to the Commercial Director for Laing O'Rourke's Australian Hub, where they focused on reporting, strategic framework development, and corporate governance.

Currently, Bernard is working at John Sisk & Son Ltd as Director - Strategy & Performance. In this role, they are accountable for the development and performance measurement of the Construction Group strategy. Bernard also oversees important support functions such as Planning & Project Controls, Digital Project Delivery, and Data Insights & Knowledge Management.

Throughout their career, Bernard has demonstrated strong leadership skills and a proactive approach to improving business performance and implementing strategic change programs. Their experience showcases their ability to manage complex projects and collaborate with key stakeholders to achieve successful outcomes.

Bernard McGarrity completed their Graduate Certificate in Executive Leadership from the University of Queensland Business School in 2013-2014. Prior to that, from 2001-2004, they studied Construction Management & Technology at Technological University Dublin. In 1995-2001, Bernard obtained their Leaving Certificate from Belvedere College.
