Esther Altorfer

Esther Altorfer is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in leadership and strategy within the social enterprise sector. As Chief Strategy Officer at Sistema.bio since September 2014, Esther has significantly contributed to initiatives that address climate change, promote clean energy, enhance food security, empower women, and alleviate poverty by leveraging technology and training for small farmers. Previous roles include Managing Director for East Africa, Chief Operations Officer, and Finance Director at Sistema.bio, as well as founding partner at 24guteTaten e.V. Esther's background includes analytical and strategic positions at prestigious institutions such as BNP Paribas, ProCredit Bank, Deutsche Bank, and The Boston Consulting Group. Esther holds multiple advanced degrees in Finance & Strategy, International Affairs and Governance from Sciences Po and the University of St.Gallen, complementing a Bachelor’s degree in Economy, History, and Political Sciences from Sciences Po.
