Necmiye Genç, PhD has a diverse range of work experience. Necmiye started their career in 2006 as an R&D Engineer at Vestel, where they were involved in algorithm development and implementation for video enhancement and portable media player projects. In 2008, they joined QNB Finansbank as a Senior Security Auditor and Consultant, where they performed security audits and acted as a subject matter expert in various IT environments and applications. Necmiye then worked at Infinite Game Publishing as a Network Security Architect, responsible for the architectural design and management of network infrastructure and security devices. In 2014, they joined Bell as a Principal Security Analyst, focusing on project implementation for infrastructure protection solutions and providing technical expertise with major vendor solutions. From 2015 to 2020, they held roles at SITA, including Lead Security Architect and Head of Technical and Operational Security, where they worked on security projects, provided guidance on security matters, and led security operations and incident response teams. Currently, they are an Academic Tutor at McGill University - Desautels Faculty of Management.
Necmiye Genç, PhD, holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Computer Science from École de technologie supérieure. Prior to that, they obtained a Master's degree (Msc) in Electric Electronic Engineering from Boğaziçi University and a Bachelor's degree (Bsc) in Electronic and Communication Engineering from Sabanci University. Necmiye Genç also has additional certifications in various fields such as CISA, Certified Ethical Hacker, ISO 27001 Lead Auditor, Microsoft Cybersecurity Architect Expert, and PMP.
