Sophia Essian has a diverse background in landscape architecture and project management. Sophia is currently working at site design group, ltd. as a Landscape Architect, Project Manager, and BIM Manager. Prior to this, Sophia worked at Design Workshop as a Landscape Architect, Project Manager, and BIM Manager, where they focused on practice-based research and creating sustainable designs. Sophia also has experience as a Landscape Designer at Clayco, where they utilized an analytical and research-based approach in all phases of the design process. Sophia's earlier experience includes working as an Office Manager at Greenfield Citrus Nursery, a Sustainability Intern at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, and a Horticulture Intern at Desert Botanical Garden, where they received recognition for their studies in desert landscape and acquired horticultural expertise.
Sophia Essian completed their Bachelor's Degree in Landscape Architecture with a focus on Ecosystems Sustainability at Arizona State University from 2010 to 2015. In addition to their degree, they have obtained several certifications including TreeKeeper from Openlands in June 2018, LEED Green Associate from the USGBC - National Capital Region Chapter in December 2017, and Chicago Conservation Corps (C3) from the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum in November 2016.
