Carsten Thoma

Carsten Thoma is currently a board member at Sitecore, and was previously with CT Investment and hybris software. Carsten was with hybris from May 1997 to June 2014, where they held the title of Co-Founder.

Carsten helped develop hybris from a German start-up into a growing and established e-commerce player, with market leading technology. This involved creating the vision of the company, working with other senior management to plan the company's strategy and positioning, leading and inspiring the workforce and developing a culture that would help ensure this success.

Carsten oversaw and managed the global operations of hybris Group, including Marketing, G&A, R&D and Global Services. Carsten led the Company's expansion into the UK and establishing its North American business (growing it from USD 0-15m in License revenue within just 18 months). Carsten also handled the acquisition of leading North American e-commerce firm iCongo and all the funding and financial aspects of this deal, as well as leading and overseeing the integration of both companies' operations and businesses. Other responsibilities included building hybris' Channel relationships and partnerships with key industry influencers, organizations and customers.

Carsten Thoma has a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the Graduate School of Business Administration Zurich and a degree in Law from Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München.
