Benjamin Johnston

Benjamin Johnston is the Managing Director at Sixth Street Growth. Prior to this, they were a Business Development Manager at LinkedIn from June 2014 to August 2014. Benjamin was also a Founding Member at Wharton Angel Group from December 2013 to May 2015. In May 2015, they joined Battery Ventures as Vice President and was primarily focused on enterprise investments with an emphasis on SaaS, network driven software, and b2b marketplaces. Some of the investments they were involved in include Narvar, Tealium, Q2ebanking (Nasdaq: QTWO), Entelo, Bonfire, Xenex, Earnest, BounceX, and JAMF. Benjamin left Battery Ventures in October 2018 and prior to that, they were with them from August 2011 to July 2013 as an Associate. Before Battery Ventures, Benjamin Johnston worked as Senior Equity Research Associate at Rutberg & Company from July 2007 to July 2011. Benjamin started their career as Business Development Associate at Innovative Technologies Institute from June 2006 to July 2007.

Benjamin Johnston has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from The Wharton School, an A.B. in Chemistry and Economics from Duke University, and a High School diploma from William Penn Charter School.

Benjamin Johnston reports to Alan Waxman, CEO. They are on a team with Kamoy Smalling - VP, Vishva Mehta - VP, and Robert Stanley - Co-head.
