Jóhann Þórsson

Jóhann Þórsson is an experienced marketing professional currently serving as Forstöðumaður markaðsmála and Vef- og nýmiðlastjóri at Sjóvá-Almennar tryggingar hf since January 2019, where responsibilities include managing the company website and advising on marketing strategies. Previously, Jóhann was Marketing Director at WEDO ehf., overseeing marketing strategy for prominent e-commerce platforms in Iceland. With a background as Head of Marketing and Affiliate Marketing Manager at Dohop, Jóhann contributed significantly to website traffic and managed various digital content channels. Additional experience includes writing for Book Riot, work as a Bioinformatician at deCODE genetics, and earlier roles in time management and painting. Jóhann holds an MSc in Biomathematics, Bioinformatics, and Computational Biology from Royal Holloway, University of London, and a BS in Computer Science and Biology from Háskóli Íslands.
