Topi Tiihonen

Topi Tiihonen has held various positions in the fields of technology and engineering since 2005. Topi began as a Research Assistant at Aalto University School of Science and Technology in 2005, where they worked on R&D of a distributed GIS-based urban hydrology model & software tool and optimization algorithm connected to the software. Topi also conducted minor studies on Finnish water infrastructure, legislation related to that, and projected climate change effects on Finnish water infrastructure in the future and adaptation measures for those challenges. In 2007, they joined WSP Finland Ltd as a Project Manager, Stormwater Expert, GIS Expert, and Application Developer. From 2010 to 2015, they were Chief Technical Officer, Partner, and Member of the Board of Eero Paloheimo Ecocity Ltd., where they managed and lead-designed projects, led and conducted application development projects and bidding. Topi's business was in sustainable community planning, resource efficiency of urban areas, sustainable water management and development of software tools/services supporting their expertise. In 2015, they became Co-Founder & CEO of SkenarioLabs.

Topi Tiihonen completed their M.Sc. in Water Engineering and Environmental Strategies from Aalto-yliopisto in 2007. In 2004-2005, they also attended Delft University of Technology and obtained a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Water Management and Civil Engineering.
