Frej Rydhem has a diverse work experience in various roles within the media industry. Frej worked as the Marketing & Communication Lead at Skipperi from December 2020. Prior to that, they were a Producer/Content Producer at Kapten Media AB, where they produced video content for Hamnen.se, Sweden's leading boating magazine, from January 2013 to August 2020. Frej also worked as a Manuscript Writer/Actor/Creator at Sveriges Radio in 2012. In 2011, they founded their own production company, Frej Rydhem - Manus- och mediaproduktion, where they worked as a Producer/Director/Editor. Frej also gained experience as a Regiassisten and Production Assistant at Dramalabbet in 2010. Additionally, they worked as a Platsansvarig at Dramatiska Institutet in 2006. Earlier in their career, they had another role at Sveriges Radio as a Manuscript Writer/Director/Actor/Creator in 2005. In 2004, they worked as a Manuscript Writer for their own company, Frej Rydhem - Manus- och mediaproduktion, as well as for EFTI, where they wrote sketches for the TV4 gala Världens Humorkväll, which was a fundraising event for UNICEF.

Frej Rydhem's education history begins with completing the Naturvetenskapliga programmet at Westerlundska Gymnasiet from 1997 to 1999, earning a Gymnasieexamen degree. In 2001, Frej enrolled at Gotland University to study Att skriva för film and continued their education there in 2002 with additional coursework in Manus och produktion – fördjupning. In the same year, Frej also attended Institutet för Högre TV-utbildning, specializing in Manuslinjen until 2004. Frej later pursued Manusutveckling för film och rörliga bilder 2 at Gotland University from 2004 to 2005. Finally, in 2008 to 2009, Frej Rydhem attended Nordens Folkhögskola Biskops-Arnö to study Att skriva dramatik.
