David Carrigg

CTO, Senior Software Engineer at Skymap

David Carrigg has a diverse work experience in the gaming industry. David is currently working as the CTO and Senior Software Engineer at Skymap Games since March 2020. Prior to that, they worked at Southern New Hampshire University as a Game Programmer and Assistant Professor starting in August 2016.

David also worked at DEKA Research & Development as a Software Engineer from May 2018 to October 2018. Before that, they were the Lead Programmer at Robot Loves Kitty from July 2014 to October 2016, where they led the technical development of the live video game show called Upsilon Circuit.

David has also worked at Owlchemy Labs as a Gameplay Programmer from November 2015 to February 2016. David was the Lead Software Engineer at Retro Affect from March 2009 to the present. Additionally, they worked at Burst Online Entertainment as the Lead Gameplay Engineer from January 2009 to October 2009, where they designed game systems, implemented simulation systems, and developed using various programming languages and technologies.

Before Burst Online Entertainment, David was the Lead Gameplay Engineer at Cheyenne Mountain Entertainment from June 2007 to January 2009. In this role, they worked on architecting new systems and implemented various game systems, including a condition-based mission system, lock-based inventory system, and dynamic spawning system.

David Carrigg completed their undergraduate education in Computer Science at Clarkson University from 2003 to 2007. During this time, they also pursued an undergraduate program in the same field at Luleå University of Technology from 2006 to 2007. In 2018, Carrigg enrolled at the Georgia Institute of Technology, where they pursued a Master of Science degree in Computer Science, which they completed in 2022.
