Maria Vorobieva

Maria Vorobieva has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Maria began their career as an Interpreter at Polar Lights Company from April 1992 to May 1995. Maria then worked as the Director of Development and Fundraising at RCWS from January 2002 to May 2007. Following this, Maria worked as the Vice President of Business Development at Ethnic Channels Group from 2007 to 2012. Maria then moved on to the Government of Canada, where they served as a Senior Advisor for Multiculturalism to the Minister of Citizenship, Immigration and Multiculturalism from 2012 to 2013. Most recently, Maria worked at SkyPower Global, starting as the Senior Director of International Public Affairs from an unknown date to April 2019, and then advancing to the role of Associate Vice President of International Public Affairs from April 2019 to present.

Maria Vorobieva completed their Master's Degree in Public Administration, Conflict Resolution, and Human Services at St. Edward's University from 1997 to 1999. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Teaching English as a Second or Foreign Language/ESL Language Instructor from Northern Arctic Federal University, where they studied from 1989 to 1996. Maria also holds additional certifications including CELTA from the University of Cambridge (obtained in September 2010), Fund Raising Management from Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy (obtained in March 2004), and Mediation/Alternative Dispute Resolution from St. Edward's University (obtained in December 1998).
