Lance Kirk

Director of Unmanned Operations at SkySkopes

Lance Kirk has a diverse work experience in the field of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and telecommunications. Lance started their career in 2008 as the Director, Manager, and Owner of Service Quest Telecommunications, where they held various leadership roles until 2018. In 2017, they became the Managing Partner of L7 Drone Services LLC, where they provided aerial cinematography and photography services to commercial clients in the Pacific Northwest. Lance also worked with large corporate clients such as T-Mobile, Sprint, and Verizon to provide 3-D images of cellular towers. In 2019, Lance joined PrecisionHawk as a Pilot in Command, conducting inspections of electrical transmission towers and other assets for PG&E. In this role, they contributed to the inspection of over 5,500 miles of power lines in California's highest-fire-threat areas. Since 2019, Lance has been working at SkySkopes, initially as a UAV pilot, then as an Assistant Operations Manager, and eventually as the Operations Manager. Their responsibilities in this role included coordinating and managing large-scale UAV flight operations in California, with a focus on utility inspections to prevent wildfires and enhance public safety. Recently, in 2022, Lance has been appointed as the Director of Unmanned Operations at SkySkopes.

Lance Kirk attended Oregon State University, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and Management, General in 1997. Additionally, they have obtained several certifications throughout their career, including OSHA 10 from Career Safe in September 2019, PG&E Wildfire Safety Program from Pacific Gas and Electric Company in February 2019, PG&E Electric Transmission Line OSHA Training from Veriforce in February 2018, Online CPR/AED and First Aid Combo Course from the National CPR Association in September 2021, Remote Pilot certification from the Government of Canada in August 2021, sUAS Certified Thermographer from the Infrared Training Center in July 2021, Commercial UAV Remote Pilot from the Federal Aviation Administration in August 2018.
