Ricardo Martinez has extensive work experience in the field of unmanned aerial systems (UAS) engineering and operations. Ricardo started their career at Saxon Remote Systems as a UAS Pilot in 2017. In 2018, they joined X, the moonshot factory, where they worked as a UAS Flight Test Engineer for the Google X-DroneHive-Project Wing. In 2019, they moved to SkySpecs as a UAS Engineer, responsible for technical operations. Over time, they progressed to the role of Head of Technical Operations and later became a Manufacturing Manager. Currently, Ricardo is employed as a Senior UAS Engineer at SkySpecs.
Ricardo Martinez pursued their education at Kansas State University from 2014 to 2017, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Engineering Technology with a specialization in Unmanned Aircraft Systems. In addition to their formal education, Ricardo also obtained various certifications in different areas. In December 2022, they became a Certified Dangerous Goods Professional (CDGP) from the International Air Transport Association (IATA). In December 2016, they obtained a Remote Pilot Certificate-Small Unmanned Aircraft Systems from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). Ricardo also obtained an Amateur Radio License from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in October 2016. Additionally, in the same month and year, they acquired the Foreign Objects Elimination certification from the National Center For Aerospace And Transportation Technologies. In April 2016, Ricardo obtained a Single Engine-Instrument Rating and in February 2015, they acquired a Single Engine-Land Private Pilot License, both from the FAA. Finally, Ricardo obtained a Medical Certificate Second Class from the FAA in December 2013.
