Ricardo Villamil

Ricardo Villamil is an accomplished software engineering professional with extensive experience in various leadership and technical roles. Currently serving as Software Engineering Manager and formerly as Senior Backend Engineer at Slang since November 2017, Ricardo has also contributed to academia as a Teaching Assistant at Harvard University from May 2019 to May 2022, guiding students in robotics, wearable devices, and capstone projects. Prior to Slang, Ricardo held the role of Technical Lead at HubSpot, where leadership of the CRM backend development team was essential, and served as a Senior Software Engineer at Apperian, Inc. in addition to a tenure as Senior Software Engineer at EBSCO Publishing. Educational accomplishments include a Professional Certificate in Architecture and Systems Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, a Master of Science in Computer Science, and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science with Summa Cum Laude honors from Boston University, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Systems Engineering from Escuela Colombiana de Ingeniería Julio Garavito.
