Philip Chan

Philip Chan has a diverse work experience in engineering and research. Philip is currently working as a Sr. Process Development Engineer at KYOCERA SLD Laser since 2022. Prior to that, they worked as a Graduate Student Researcher at the University of California, Santa Barbara from 2016 to 2022, where they focused on projects related to III-nitride device design, simulation, growth, fabrication, and testing. Philip completed their dissertation on Strain-Relaxed InGaN Buffer Layers for Long Wavelength Nitride Devices during this time. Additionally, they gained experience as a Graduate Technical Intern at Northrop Grumman Corporation, Electronic Systems in 2015 and as an Intern/Coop at Rutgers University–New Brunswick from 2013 to 2015.

Philip Chan completed their education at UC Santa Barbara from 2015 to 2020, where they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in ECE, specializing in Electronics and Photonics. Prior to that, from 2011 to 2015, they attended Rutgers University and received a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering. Philip'seducational journey began at Princeton High School, where they completed their high school education from 2007 to 2011. The field of study for their high school education is not available.
