Franky Castillo

Franky Castillo has over 10 years of experience in the software industry. In 2017, they joined Slice Labs Inc. as a Technical Project Lead, where they maintained one of the core components, with multiple third-party integrations and critical service to service communications using both REST and queue technologies. Franky also rewrote a full service from C# (netcore) to Java (Spring Boot, Kafka), managed all interactions for the Underwriter requirements, provided ongoing code and support of the core services, all in Java (Spring Boot, Postgres, Kafka), and managed and supported microservices to deal with inbound messages and routing via Kafka, including support for vehicle telematics data and high throughput callbacks, including intake, flow management, transformation/enrichment and publish to downstream consumers. Franky was also the general point of contact for anything technical related to underwriting, including the interface between Business / Tech and Third parties. Prior to this, they worked at Fuel Industries as a Senior Server Developer from 2013 to 2017, at Jitisoft (a Division of American Iron and Metal) as a Senior Software Engineer from 2012 to 2013, at MediaMiser as a Senior Software Developer from 2011 to 2012, and at OSLSolutions as a Software Developer from 2009 to 2011. Additionally, they worked at Dell Canada as a L2 Technical Support Agent from 2009 to 2011, where they resolved customers' technical issues over the phone on the Premium Support Queue (XPS), or by connecting remote to their computers, managed customers' accounts, provided front line response to customers' concerns, and technical enquiries, and researched for solutions using internal and external resources to provide the best Customer Experience.
