Maikel Withagen

Maikel Withagen has a strong background in machine learning engineering and software development. Maikel is currently working as a Senior Machine Learning Engineer at Slimmer AI since May 2022. Prior to their current role, they worked at Sentinels from January 2020 to April 2022, where they served as a Machine Learning Engineer and contributed to the development of a complete software product. Before that, Maikel worked as a Machine Learning Engineer at Slimmer AI from June 2019 to January 2020, and at Target Holding from November 2017 to June 2019. Maikel also has experience as a Developer at SoundAppraisal from May 2016 to December 2016, where they worked on a system that monitors and appraises the sonic environment. Additionally, Maikel worked as a Student Assistant at the University of Groningen from November 2015 to May 2016, where they assisted in processing experimental data for PhD research using machine learning methods. Maikel also gained work experience as a Supermarket Help at Lidl Nederland from January 2010 to January 2013, and as an Assistant Programmer at Q-Modus from June 2010 to December 2010.

Maikel Withagen has a strong educational background in the field of Artificial Intelligence. Maikel completed their Master's Degree in Artificial Intelligence from the University of Groningen from 2014 to 2018. Prior to that, they obtained their Bachelor's Degree in the same field from the University of Groningen, where they studied from 2009 to 2014.

Before pursuing higher education, Maikel attended RSG de Borgen, where they completed their VWO (pre-university education) from 2003 to 2009. During their time at RSG de Borgen, they focused on the study areas of Nature & Technology and Nature & Health.
