Brian Talbert

Sr. VP of Finance at Slingshot Biosciences

Brian Talbert has a strong background in finance and operations, with over 20 years of experience in various leadership roles. Brian is currently working as the Senior Vice President of Finance at Slingshot Biosciences. Prior to Slingshot Biosciences, Brian served as the Vice President of Finance at Nephrosant, Inc. from 2021 to 2023.

From 2018 to 2021, Brian worked at Nova Measuring Instruments as the Vice President of Finance and Operations. In this role, they functioned as the CFO for the US and the Materials Metrology Division. Brian was responsible for leading all financial responsibilities, including accounting, AP/AR, tax, insurance, reporting, forecasting, analysis, budgeting, vendor management, facilities, and IT. Brian also identified opportunities for tax savings and successfully initiated a change to new external tax partners, resulting in $2 million in tax savings. Additionally, they played a crucial role in the company's move to a new site and was responsible for the office and clean room build-out.

Prior to Nova Measuring Instruments, Brian worked as the Head of Finance and Senior Director at Logitech from 2016 to 2018. Before that, they served as the Director of Finance at Intuitive Surgical from 2012 to 2016. In this role, Brian was responsible for corporate FP&A, reporting, commissions, and all G&A. Brian played a key role in developing the company's incentive compensation strategy and planning, building a system for over $200 million in commissions from scratch.

Brian's earlier experiences include working as the Senior Director of Finance at eSilicon from 2011 to 2012 and as the VP Finance and Treasurer at PMC-Sierra from 2008 to 2011. Brian started their career at Intel, where they worked in various roles from 1998 to 2008, including Controller for Americas' Revenue, Controller for the Optical Network Division, and Senior P&L Manager for the Cellular and Handheld Products Group.

Before joining Intel, Brian worked as an Electrical Engineer at Müller Weingarten AG and Allis Minerals: McNally Wellman, where they helped launch the US subsidiaries of both companies.

Throughout their career, Brian Talbert has demonstrated strong financial expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to drive strategic initiatives.

Brian Talbert earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from The Ohio State University, where they studied from 1986 to 1991. Brian then pursued an MBA at Carnegie Mellon University - Tepper School of Business from 1997 to 1998.
