Senior Technical Account Manager at Slingshot Biosciences

Charles K. has a diverse work experience, starting in 2010 as an intern at Invivosciences LLC. From 2011 to 2013, they worked as a Laboratory Technician at Brandeis University, where they designed and constructed fluorescently tagged ion channels for TIRF microscopy experiments. In 2013, they became a Process Development Associate - Genomics Platform at Broad, where they operated lab automation technologies and led an Illumina cBot optimization project. From 2014 to 2016, Charles worked as a Laboratory Technician II at Weill Cornell Medical College, focusing on characterizing the systematic reorganization of the T cell compartment during microbial-induced colitis.

In 2016, they became a Graduate Student at Thomas Jefferson University and conducted research on combination protocols involving radiation, PD-1 inhibitors, and dietary interventions in the 4T1 murine breast cancer model. During this time, they discovered the combinatorial effect of caloric restriction and radiation therapy in reducing immune suppression in the tumor microenvironment.

Charles joined the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia in 2020 as a Technical Specialist III. In this role, they managed and developed new clinical flow cytometry assays and ensured compliance with relevant standards.

In 2022, Charles started working at Slingshot Biosciences. Charles initially held the position of Account Manager and was responsible for prospecting and developing new customer relationships in the northeastern region. Later, they transitioned to the role of Technical Account Manager, covering the Mid-Atlantic and Great Lakes regions. Charles successfully launched and sold multiple flow cytometry products and custom capabilities, generating new business opportunities and revenue. Charles was recognized as the Slingshot Sales Person of the Year 2022.

Charles K completed their education with a Master of Science (MS) degree in Immunology & Microbial Pathogenesis from Jefferson Health, where they studied from 2016 to 2020. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Biology and Politics from Brandeis University, graduating between 2007 and 2011. In addition to their degrees, Charles also earned certifications as a Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt from the International Association for Continuing Education & Training (IACET) in June 2014, and as a CITI For Clinical Investigators from the Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative in June 2014.
