Tam Truong

Tam Truong is the current Vice President of Slingshot Dx at Slingshot Biosciences. Prior to this, Tam was the Senior Director of Foundry Operations at Ginkgo Bioworks, Inc. from November 2020 to May 2022. There, Tam reorganized team structures to optimize machine utilization and drive down costs. Tam also modified existing and new workflows to be able to scale efficiently. Furthermore, Tam created a unified support structure that services 15 different departments and negotiated of supplier and client contracts. Finally, they tech transferred protocols to a third party lab network and developed multiple workflows to function on a network of interlinked automated instrumentation while managing of up to 80 personnel over multiple sites. Prior to their time at Ginkgo Bioworks, Inc., Tam was the Director of Operations at Promis Diagnostics from July 2019 to November 2020 where they founded a new clinical testing laboratory and cGxP facility. There, they sourced equipment, reagents and consumable supplies to align with budget of products. Additionally, Tam successfully submitted for CLIA and CAP certifications and implemented a cloud based lab information system and document control repository. Tam also brought products from conception to market during their time as Director of Operations at Promis Diagnostics.
