Theodore Sedgwick

Tod Sedgwick’s career has spanned journalism, publishing, diplomacy and the timber business. He served as U.S. ambassador to Slovakia from 2010-2015 and prior to that launched two publishing/information companies primarily focused on energy. He has served on the boards of a number of nonprofits including the Civil War Trust (which he chaired), the Folger Shakespeare Library, the Shakespeare Theater Co., the Gennadius Library of Athens, Greece, and the Potomac School of McLean, VA. He has also served on corporate boards including Atlantic Information Services Inc, Washington Business Information Inc., Inside Higher Ed and Red Hills Lumber Co. He is currently senior policy adviser at Alston & Bird, a fellow at the Transatlantic Center at The Johns Hopkins School for Advanced International Studies and a senior fellow at the Center for the Study of the Presidency and Congress.
