K. W.

K.W. has a diverse range of work experience in various roles related to product management, user experience (UX) research, and design. They started their career as a Student Representative at Adobe in 2014 and went on to work as a UI Designer at Captions. In 2015, they worked as a Huissière at the International Labour Organization, where they facilitated communications between diplomats, Worker's Representatives, Employer's Representatives, and the press.

They then transitioned into the field of UX design and research, starting as a Usability Engineer at MobileThinking SARL, where they created wireframes for mobile UIs focusing on ease of use. They also worked as a UX/Mobile Health Researcher at the Université de Genève, conducting research using smartphone sensor data in the mHealth domain.

In 2017, K.W. joined Samsung Electronics as a UX Researcher, working on projects related to eliminating household cleaning using HCI methods and designing in-home robots. They conducted user research, testing of prototypes, and synthesized research data to provide insights for the team. They also created wireframes for mobile apps and physical prototypes for various hardware accessories.

During the same year, K.W. also worked as a PM at AM Global: Agromovil and as a Teaching Assistant at the Human-Computer Interaction Institute - Carnegie Mellon University - School of Computer Science.

From 2018 onwards, K.W. joined Smallpdf, initially working as a UX Designer and later transitioning to the roles of Staff UX Researcher and Senior UX Product Manager. In their role as a Staff UX Researcher, they helped grow Smallpdf's user base and guided product teams in building user-centric products through multi-part research studies, interviews, and usability testing. They also created a research repository and trained interns in UX Research.

Currently, K.W. holds the position of Staff Growth Product Manager at Smallpdf, where they apply their expertise in UX research and product management to drive the company's growth.

Overall, K.W. has a strong background in UX research, product management, and design, with experience in various industries such as technology, academia, and international organizations.

K.W.'s education history includes various degrees and certifications. K.W. obtained a MHCI degree in Human Computer Interaction from the CMU Human-Computer Interaction Institute in 2017. They also completed an Auditor program in Computer Vision at EPFL (École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne) in 2021. Additionally, K.W. participated in a Leadership Training Programme at the University of St.Gallen in 2020.

Prior to these degrees and programs, K.W. pursued a BHCI and BSc in Human Computer Interaction and Technical Writing and Communication at Carnegie Mellon University from 2013 to 2017. They also completed an IGCSE and Pre-IB Program, as well as an IB Diploma Program, with a focus on Computer Science, Art, and Mathematics at the International School of Geneva (Ecolint).

Furthermore, K.W. obtained several certifications, including a MHCI certification from the Human-Computer Interaction Institute - Carnegie Mellon University - School of Computer Science in December 2017. They also received a BSc. HCI certification from Carnegie Mellon University in May 2017. Additionally, K.W. achieved a DELE B1 certification from Instituto Cervantes in June 2011, a DELF B2 certification from the Centre international d'études pédagogiques (CIEP) in June 2010, and an ECDL certification from the ECDL Foundation in April 2008.
