David Fernandez

David Fernandez has a diverse and extensive work experience in the renewable energy sector. David'smost recent positions include Chief Operating Officer at MN8 Energy and President of the Board of Directors at SMARKIA, both since 2022. Prior to this, they served as President of the Board of Directors at QBI Solutions from 2018.

From 2017 to 2022, David worked at Goldman Sachs, initially as a VP and later as a Managing Director. During this time, they were involved in various responsibilities such as member of the Investment Committee, capital raising, deployment of funds in the renewable space, management of renewable assets, investor relations, and reporting. David also had experience in private placement to optimize portfolios.

Before joining Goldman Sachs, David held positions at Fotowatio Renewable Ventures (FRV) as Managing Director FRV USA & Country Manager from 2016 to 2017, at TerraForm Power as VP of Asset and Risk Management from 2014 to 2016, at SunEdison as President & CEO Micro CSP Solutions from 2013 to 2015, VP Ops North America from 2012 to 2014, and VP Global Ops from 2011 to 2012. David also worked at Renewable Ventures as Senior Vice President from 2010 to 2011, at GES USA as Chief Operating Officer & Country Manager from 2006 to 2010, and at Soluziona-Socoin as a Project Manager from 2004 to 2006.

David Fernandez completed an MBA Profesionales degree at IE Business School from 2003 to 2004. Prior to that, they pursued a Masters in Aeronautical Engineering at Purdue University from 1998 to 2000, specializing in Aerodynamics & Structures. In their undergraduate studies, David attended Western Michigan University from 1995 to 1998, where they earned a degree in Aeronautical Engineering with a focus on Aerodynamics.
