Frank Gauld

Frank Gauld has been in the technology industry for over 20 years. Frank has held various positions at companies such as Wipro Technologies and Virgin Money. Most recently, they are the CEO at Smart Data Foundry.

Gauld began their career at Wipro Technologies in February 2014 as a Client Partner for Lloyds Banking Group. Frank was responsible for the delivery of technology and transformation services. Frank's P&L covering payments, cards, ATMs, channel automation / BPM, commercial, insurance and wealth amounted to £70M+.

In March 2008, Gauld joined Virgin Money as the CIO for Change and IT Development. As Head of business change, development and support organizations, they led a team of 900 – 300 of which were an embedded outsource team located in the UK and India. Frank's responsibilities included digital banking, payments, cards & ATM, channel applications, fraud, core, data and infrastructure banking systems.

Gauld was a key member of the Operations and IT Leadership Team reporting to the COO. Frank successfully led multiple transformational changes including the Faster Payments implementation, payments hub transformation, ATM & debit-card re-platforming & outsourcing, financial reconciliation, digital banking and data services, BPM implementation, mortgage system re-platforming and core simplification. In addition, they managed the ATM & Debit Card Processing service post outsource.

Frank Gauld completed a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from The University of Edinburgh. Frank then obtained a C-Suite Certificate in Strategy from Emory University - Goizueta Business School. Next, they completed a Master of Project Management from The George Washington University. Frank also holds certification from The Institute of Directors as a Full Member, from The RSA as a Fellow of the RSA (FRSA), from BCS as a Fellow of BCS (FBCS CITP), from the Engineering Council as a Chartered Engineer (EUR ING CEng), and from the Project Management Institute as a Project Management Professional (PMP).
