Sjoerd van den Dries has a diverse work experience starting from 2005. From 2005 to 2007, they worked as a Student Assistant at Utrecht University. Then, from 2008 to 2010, they worked as a Policy Officer at the Dutch Health Authority. In 2012, Sjoerd joined Eindhoven University of Technology as a PhD Candidate and worked there until 2015. In 2016, they started working at Smart Robotics as a Senior Software Developer and eventually became the Expert Lead - Robot Motion in 2020. In their current role, Sjoerd coaches fellow developers, helps improve technical and non-technical skills, and focuses on building, maintaining, and sharing technical knowledge within the organization, with a specific focus on robot motion planning and algorithmic design.

Sjoerd van den Dries pursued their education with a strong focus on artificial intelligence. From 1998 to 2004, they attended Oude Hoven Athenaeum, where their specific degree and field of study are not mentioned.
