Sjoerd van den Dries

Sjoerd van den Dries has a diverse work experience starting from 2005. From 2005 to 2007, they worked as a Student Assistant at Utrecht University. Then, from 2008 to 2010, they worked as a Policy Officer at the Dutch Health Authority. In 2012, Sjoerd joined Eindhoven University of Technology as a PhD Candidate and worked there until 2015. In 2016, they started working at Smart Robotics as a Senior Software Developer and eventually became the Expert Lead - Robot Motion in 2020. In their current role, Sjoerd coaches fellow developers, helps improve technical and non-technical skills, and focuses on building, maintaining, and sharing technical knowledge within the organization, with a specific focus on robot motion planning and algorithmic design.

Sjoerd van den Dries pursued their education with a strong focus on artificial intelligence. From 1998 to 2004, they attended Oude Hoven Athenaeum, where their specific degree and field of study are not mentioned. However, they later enrolled at Utrecht University from 2004 to 2007, obtaining their Bachelor of Science (Cum Laude) in Cognitive Artificial Intelligence.
