Sjoerd van den Dries has a diverse work experience starting from 2005. From 2005 to 2007, they worked as a Student Assistant at Utrecht University. Then, from 2008 to 2010, they worked as a Policy Officer at the Dutch Health Authority. In 2012, Sjoerd joined Eindhoven University of Technology as a PhD Candidate and worked there until 2015. In 2016, they started working at Smart Robotics as a Senior Software Developer and eventually became the Expert Lead - Robot Motion in 2020. In their current role, Sjoerd coaches fellow developers, helps improve technical and non-technical skills, and focuses on building, maintaining, and sharing technical knowledge within the organization, with a specific focus on robot motion planning and algorithmic design.
Sjoerd van den Dries pursued their education with a strong focus on artificial intelligence. They strive to maintain employment in the chain. Their strength lies in new technologies, cooperation and flexibility. They offer an innovative business model, which they are the agency for robots. The intelligence of their product is in the software, and is independent robot. They make use of existing industrial hardware, such as robot arms, cameras and sensors. The High Tech Campus Eindhoven is their ideal starting point, here they are therefore established. Within Eindhoven have close ties with Eindhoven University of Technology and nationally with a number of partners in the field of hardware and service.
