John Stewart

John Stewart has a diverse background in software engineering, with experience in various leadership roles. John began their career in 2007 as a Team Lead at Research In Motion, where they worked on the Chalkboard product and was trained in agile methodologies. In this role, they managed direct reports and mentored co-op students.

In 2012, John joined Zaptap as the Director of Software Engineering until 2014.

Since 2014, John has been working at SmartSkin Technologies, starting as a Software Lead before being promoted to Director of Software Engineering in 2019. In their current position, they manage a growing software team and interfaces closely with the hardware team to provide data recording and analysis capabilities. Their daily responsibilities include architecture, implementation, code review, one-on-one meetings, and agile process management.

In July 2022, John was promoted to the role of VP of Emerging Technology at SmartSkin Technologies, where they continue to contribute their expertise in software engineering and leadership.

John Stewart completed their Bachelor of Computer Science degree at the University of New Brunswick from 1999 to 2005. John then pursued a Master's of Computer Science degree at the same institution from 2005 to 2006. However, the field of study for both degrees is not provided.
