Jesse Houston

Jesse Houston has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. They are currently employed as the Vice President Commercial Credit Underwriter at SmartBank, starting in 2022. Prior to this, they held the position of Vice President Commercial Lending at South County Bank from 2016 to 2018, where they tripled the size of the Inland Empire loan portfolio within two years. From 2013 to 2016, they worked as Vice President Commercial Lending at Sunwest Bank, successfully achieving business development goals and managing a $50 million commercial credit portfolio. Additionally, they co-managed a team of junior analysts. Before that, Jesse worked at Wedbush Securities in 2013, first as a Private Company Research Associate, focusing on researching and authoring reports on private companies. They also served as an Equity Research Intern, assisting in coverage initiation processes. In 2012, they were a Research Intern at FocusPoint Solutions, where they conducted equity research and updated portfolio performance data for compliance purposes. Lastly, Jesse has entrepreneurship experience as the Owner/General Manager of J & L Equipment and Service LLC from 2006 to 2011, managing a team, handling administrative duties, and collaborating with customers to tailor products and services.

Jesse Houston obtained a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree in Finance, General from the Drucker School of Management between 2011 and 2013. Prior to that, Jesse earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Psychology from Chapman University, graduating between 1999 and 2003. Jesse has also pursued additional certifications, specifically being a CFA Level II Candidate.
