John Patterson Fiet

John Patterson CB FIET serves as the Executive Chair of SmartIR, a University of Manchester spin-out focused on innovative thermal and signature management systems for space and defense. In addition, John holds the position of Chair at 2iC Limited, overseeing software development for digital interoperability in mission-critical systems. As an Advisory Board Member for the UK Innovation & Science Seed Fund, John contributes to the growth of tech companies in various sectors, including biotech and alternative energy. John also founded Mission Analysis Limited, which focuses on cultivating technological talent, and actively serves as a Non-Executive Director and Trustee for STOP THE TRAFFIK Group, a charity combating human trafficking. Previous roles include Director Capability at Strategic Command and Head of Finance and Military Capability at the UK Ministry of Defence, complemented by an extensive educational background featuring an MBA from The Open University Business School and a Master's degree from King's College London.
